BRN Committees are Making Great Things Happen!

Thank you for considering donating your time in support of the accelerated construction of light rail on the BeltLine! The bulk of BRN’s work is performed in committees, where volunteers work collaboratively to advance the BRN vision. Committees convene on a roughly monthly basis, and with greater frequency as needed. Here are our current committees and their activities:

ACTIVATION COMMITTEE

Activates citizens to amplify the demand for accelerated and urgent construction of rail on the BeltLine, and to escalate the topic of BeltLine rail in public conversation. Goals and activities:

  • Hi-visibility public actions, special events, and mobilization campaigns in support of BeltLine rail

  • Production of a tool kit to empower community leaders to become BRN advocates

  • Pursue speaking opportunities with neighborhoods and community groups

HIGH-VALUE SKILLS: Organizing, networking, public speaking, relationship building


COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Informs and promotes public discussion about rail on the BeltLine and related topics, for the purpose of inspiring individuals to activate in support of the BRN mission and vision. Goals and activities:

  • Produce high-impact digital content: social media, blog, website, and others

  • Engage news outlets to elevate awareness of the urgency and value of BeltLine rail

  • Produce highly-polished, evidence-based docs and communications materials

HIGH VALUE SKILLS: Digital design and illustration, copyrighting, social media, Squarespace, news outlet contacts


ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

Leverages political events for the purpose of advancing the BRN mission. Goals and activities:

  • Facilitate candidate forums to escalate light rail as an election issue

  • Develop a candidate scorecard to highlight which candidates will elevate light rail on the BeltLine during their tenure, if elected

  • Engage local leaders and develop questions for citizens to ask of candidates at any opportunity about their perspective on light rail
